Microsoft has confirmed the discontinuation of Surface Studio 2 Plus monoblocks. The device was presented in the fall of 2022. The corporation no longer plans to produce the Surface Studio.
Customers will be able to continue to purchase monoblocs from retailers and partners while stocks last. After that, the Surface Studio 2 Plus will not be available for purchase.
Microsoft announced the original Surface Studio in October 2016 along with the Surface Pro 4 tablet and the first Surface Book laptop. The monobloc had a 28-inch touch screen with a resolution of 4500 x 3000 and a hinge that allowed the device to transform into a graphic tablet.
The second generation of Surface Studio was released two years later. The device received a more productive processor and video card from Nvidia. PCs were delivered with SSD drives instead of hard drives.
In 2022, Microsoft presented Surface Studio 2 Plus worth $4.5 thousand. The device is equipped with a 4-core Intel Core i7-11370H processor, a GeForce RTX 3060 video card with 6 GB of video memory, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD drive.
The Surface Studio series will join other lines of devices that Microsoft abandoned, including Surface Neo, Surface Duo, Surface Headphones, Surface Earbuds, Surface Book and many others. In recent years, the corporation has updated only its most popular Surface devices, such as Surface Pro and Surface Laptop.
